One of the many tasks that are required by ship’s crew on a periodic basis is to test the free-falling lifeboat. Or, in the case of the builders of such boats, to raise them up as high as they can with a floating barge crane and drop them to see what happens.
Depending on how high up in the air this lifeboat is installed, the experience can be quite exhilarating. Here’s what it looks like from inside:
